That Disgusting RFK Jr. Tweet Is Actually Fake

Have you seen that tweet from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that appears to show a particularly revolting meal he prepared?

“Lentil purée with sausages for dinner tonight,†the tweet that’s gone viral reads.

It’s incredibly disgusting, to say the least. And Kennedy, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, is known for eating gross stuff, including plenty of roadkill. But this particular tweet is not real.

Well, the image is real, and someone probably ate that. But Kennedy never sent it.

Where did this fake screenshot come from? It appears to originate from an X account called 679 Enthusiast, with the handle @marionumber4. On Oct. 12, the account looks like it was the first to share the screenshot, with the caption: “Listen up liberal, I’m eating poop.â€

There’s no evidence Kennedy shared the photo on X, and the same image (without a caption that makes it look like Kennedy posted it) appeared on the Reddit community r/poopfromabutt. The subreddit shares photos of food that looks, quite literally, like shit.

If the account 679 Enthusiast sounds familiar, that might be because the X user often shares fake tweets from right-wing celebrities, including Candace Owens, Elon Musk, and the mother of one of Musk’s kids, Ashley St. Clair. Many of those tweets often go viral.

For example, have you seen tweets purporting to be from Musk, Grimes, or St. Clair talking about Elon’s “botched penis They probably came from this person.

This isn’t the first time someone has made fake tweets from RFK Jr. that go viral. It’s not even the first time someone has made a fake Kennedy tweet about food that’s circulated widely. Back in December 2024, after the election, but before President Donald Trump was inaugurated in January, there was a tweet that went viral purporting to be from Kennedy.

The tweet showed a bowl of food and read, “Raw meat, raw yolks, raw cheese, raw milk, raw Royal jelly and some raw milk.†As Reuters noted at the time, it appeared to have been scraped from some random German account promoting raw food. It’s unclear who created that one, though.

Other viral tweets from that time falsely claimed that Kennedy would ban junk food and soda like Coca-Cola. The health secretary has indeed worked to change the ingredients in junk food, but he’s basically done the opposite of trying to ban it, instead pretending like swapping out beef tallow for seed oils in french fries magically turns it into health food.

Kennedy is a very weird guy who has a long history as an anti-vaccine activist, doesn’t even believe in the germ theory of disease, and is currently dismantling U.S. public health and safety infrastructure. But that one particular tweet that’s currently going viral—his shit-food dinner—is totally fake.
