Season 13 of American Horror Story hits that powerful occult number with Ryan Murphy ready to bring back some of the franchise’s biggest stars.
According to Variety, the show is also set to reunite Ariana Grande (Wicked: For Good) with Murphy as well as her former Scream Queens co-stars Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd. The pop singer-turned-actress was a fun feature in the slasher college comedy thriller. Her role was pretty much akin to the part Drew Barrymore played in Scream, having Grande, at the height of her pop stardom, show up for a fun, glorified kill. Post Wicked, of course, it will be fun to see Grande continue to flex her acting chops in Murphy’s American Horror Story sandbox.
Returning to the American Horror Story Universe will be major players from across all previous seasons of the hit series; the report also mentioned that several all-stars are coming back. Familiar faces joining season 13 include Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, and Gabourey Sidibe, along with former “Chanels” Lourd, Roberts, and Grande. Lourd and Roberts transitioned over to AHS since the finale of Scream Queens, the little show that also featured Glen Powell (Running Man). The ensemble has not been announced to be portraying any characters we’ve seen previously, as the show’s conceit is that more often than not, everyone is playing someone new—even if they were cast in past seasons.
Ryan Murphy surprised fans this Halloween with the casting announcement on his official Instagram page, through a reel featuring the names of his Season 13 ensemble members. We’ve got to say, it’s beginning to feel like an American Horror Story Avengers crossover here.
