A New Lego ‘Legend of Zelda’ Set Is Coming

After years of begging, Nintendo and Lego finally acquiesced to fan demand last year with the release of the very first Legend of Zelda Lego set: the Great Deku Tree, a 2-in-1 set that straddled the worlds of Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time. Now, it looks like Lego’s going back for more… and this time they’re not double-dipping on Zelda timelines.

This morning Lego and Nintendo teased that a brand-new Legend of Zelda set would be arriving some time in 2026. Although explicit details weren’t revealed, the teaser all but confirms that the new set will be inspired by the final battle between Link and Ganon from the Nintendo 64 classic, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The teaser shows Adult Link from Ocarina (a minifigure included already with the Great Deku set), wielding the Hylian Shield and Master Sword, surrounded by debris and a wall of flames evoking the ruins of Ganondorf’s castle and Hyrule Castle Town, where the final boss fight takes place. Glimpsed in the background is a brand-new minifigure of Princess Zelda, wearing her regalia from Ocarina of Time (although the Great Deku set included Zelda as well, it was inspired by her appearance in Breath of the Wild). Although as-yet-unseen, the teaser does include the large shadow of Ganon’s bestial form towering over Link, suggesting that the bulk of the set will likely be a brick-built recreation of Ganondorf’s transformed appearance.

Although we don’t have all the details quite yet, it does appear at least that this set might be a bit of a smaller-scaled one compared to the Great Deku Tree. A 2,500-piece set, given the need to recreate both the Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild versions of the tree, it was a pricey ask at $300. Hopefully, if the intent is that Lego and Nintendo keep on making Zelda sets, this might come in much lower than that price point, and we start seeing a whole array of Zelda sets inspired by different games that have different scopes and price points. And that means less scrounging around for pots to smash in the hopes a few rupees come tumbling out.

The King of Red Lions from Wind Waker? The titular mask from Majora’s Mask? Skyloft from Skyward Sword? The Divine Beasts from Breath of the Wild, or some Zonai constructs from Tears of the Kingdom? What Legend of Zelda sets would you want to see now that we’re heading back to brick-built Hyrule next year?
