ASEAN economies rely heavily on both the US and China as trading partners, so they can’t afford to risk anything here. That especially since they are emerging markets, except for Singapore, so they can’t afford to upset the powers that be. But as the trade war escalates, it’s a concerning development at least for Southeast Asia economies as well.
