The Big Kill

Deadline reports Alicia Witt, Jolene Blalock, Skeet Ulrich, Megan Suri, Jon Heder, Pete Holmes, Natasha Leggero, Morgan Jay, Trevor Wallace, and Steph Tolev will star in The Big Kill, a “satirical slasher movie†paying “tribute to Gen X and set to popular 1990s songs.†Directed by Todd Berger from a script by Emmy-winning Daily Show writer Daniel Radosh, the story concerns “a group of longtime friends and their families as they share a remote cabin following a funeral. When a killer starts hunting the group, the friends are forced to confront the darkest elements of their past.â€

Hocus Pocus 3

Thora Birch stated she’s “super open†to reprising her role as Dani Dennison in Hocus Pocus in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Yeah, I’d like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up. I’m super open to the idea. They love talking about this stuff, so we’ll see.

Masters of the Universe

Elsewhere, Camila Mendes praised the script for Masters of the Universe in a recent interview with Screen Rant.

I think one of the things I admire most about the film, and that I was so pleasantly surprised by when I read the script, is that it had the perfect balance of comedy and heart. It wasn’t a movie that was completely making fun of itself the whole time, but it has a good sense of humor.

I’m really, really proud of what we did. It’s so hard to walk away from these movies because so much is going to be done in post that you’re like, “How do I assess what we just walked away from?†But I just have a feeling about this one. I could be completely wrong, but I think it’s very special.

Crystal Lake

Speaking with Screen Rant, Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane revealed the Friday the 13th prequel series is set after the events of Jason’s drowning death, suggesting audiences won’t actually see Pamela Voorhees raising her son per ex-showrunner Bryan Fuller’s original vision.

[The] absolutely brilliant Linda Cardellini is playing Mrs. Voorhees. I can’t say whether or not Jason is actually in it. Jason might be in it. I don’t know if I’d want to do a Friday the 13th without a Jason in it.

[Jason] had another mask in earlier incarnations. He was a little boy who drowned at Crystal Lake. Maybe we’ll see a little bit of that. [The show is] really about the mother and son, and what happens on the other side of the drowning.

It: Welcome to Derry

Finally, HBO has released a “this season on…†trailer for It: Welcome to Derry, and also announced that episode two will now release early on HBO Max at 3am ET on October 31, before airing again on HBO Sunday November 2.
